The Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival (KLPF) 2012 is back!
The annual biggest and hottest imaging event of the year celebrates its 16th anniversary this year and came with the theme of ‘City’. The event was held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from October 5th to 7th, 2012.

It was one of our proud moment for us as one of our renowned members of Zuikoholics who has put his passion and enthusiasm in urban and still life photography, Ahmad Jaa has been nominated as one of the finalists in the KLPF Photo-creator of the Year 2012 with the specific theme of “Seni & the City”.

From the overall of 80 entry submissions, only 8 of the contestant were selected to secure the final spots. And the eight exceptional photographers who made it to the finals were:
(1) Ahmad Jaa;
(2) Cheah Hui Ting;
(3) Chia Keng Sua;
(4) Gary Ng Quok Howe;
(5) Kong Yuk Loong;
(6) Leong Tuck Mun;
(7) Mohd Azlan Bin Mohd Latib; and

The final judging has never been easy. All of the finalist were further tested for final assignments, in which they are required to shoot and submit 3 photos on the spot during the day of the evaluation on Saturday, October 6th, 2012. They are needed to present their concept of artwork and answered some questions from the judges too.
The winner of the contest goes to Mohd Azlan Bin Mohd Latib, with his superb tune of fine art. We wish to congratulate Mohd Azlan for winning the “Seni & The City” photo competition and we also would like to congratulate all of the finalists who have made themselves nominated in the final stage.

Despite of having the photo competition, there were also many other activities were being conducted during the festival. There were photos exhibition with the theme of ‘City” where it highlights many remarkable images from the local and international talented photographers.

The Free Independent Travel Exchange (FITE) section was designed specifically for the travellers and photographers with the objective to gather and exchange travel information and experiences. To name, a few of organisations involved in the FITE exhibition include the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Taiwan Visitors Association, the Sabah Tourism Board, the Tourism Selangor and etc.

There were also photography forums being held with interesting topics discussed during the event. The panels of the forum were among the key players within this industry including Henry Wong, Kelvin Chan, Eric Peris, Shamshahrin Shamsudin, Ariff Awaluddin, and many more.
And of course, the were exhibition booths from the big names in this industry being set up within the festival center. The visitors of KLPF would not want to miss the opportunity to visit the camera and equipment booths displaying recent innovation in technology and design of the products.

The three days exhibition has attracted a tremendous overwhelming response from the public in generally, as well as the photography enthusiasts and the travellers. It has many to offer in terms of photography and travel information.
The next year exhibition is scheduled on October 11th to 13th, 2013. Make sure you bookmark the date in your calendar, because the excitement is inevitable!
