G+ | Google Plus Malaysia City Photowalk

It was a wet and cloudy morning but still many turned up for the Google Plus City Photowalk. Andy Jamil, Razif Hadi and ahmadjaa first gathered at the KL Tower before moving to the meeting point.

The Photowalk was initiated by Google Switzerland, Zurich office to Ronnie Oh, sometime in Nov 2011 with the objective of creating awareness and exposure of G+ among Malaysian photographers to encourage photo sharing and interactions.

Corporate sponsors for this event were Google Zurich office, FujiFilm (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Bo Eing Photo Sdn Bhd, Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia Sdn Bhd and AP Studio.

From KL Tower, we strolled down to Monorail Raja Chulan Station as a warming up for the walk. We reached Maharajalela Station at approximately 9.30 a.m. and met up with other participants of the photowalk there. Mr. Ronnie gave us a briefing on the flow of the program, the route of our walk and a quick ice-breaking session among the participants.

The rain stopped. Although there was some drizzle, but it was not a constraint to us to carry on with the program. We began our journey by visiting the Kuan Yin Temple nearby our meeting point. It was located at the main road of Jalan Maharajalela and in conjunction with Bulatan Merdeka and Jalan Stadium.

Everyone took a quick break at Pasar Seni LRT Station to regroup before continuing our journey to the KTM Building for a group photo shoot. We took some shots along the way, while waiting for the others to arrive.

We reached the KTM Building around 11.30 a.m. and took a few more shots here. The KTM building is unique and is regarded among the historical landmark in  Kuala Lumpur due to its invaluable architectural design, structure and appearance. It was fully constructed in 1910 with the design inspired from the Mogul civilisation combined with some elements of the western architecture.

After we had our group photo shoot in front of the KTM Building, Mr. Ronnie then told us a sad news that our walk will end here due to time constraint and we will be heading back to the Central Market Bus Station. From there, we will take the free GO KL City Bus Service to our final check point of KL Tower. The routes are based on the color of the bus and the one that we hopped in was the purple route. The bus also comes with a free Wi-Fi connection and many of us were seen updating their social networks during the ride.

KL Tower which is one of Kuala Lumpur’s landmark is located at Jalan Puncak somewhere around Bukit Nanas area. After another group photo session done in front of the main gate, we walked up towards the lobby and regroup before making our way up – of course by using the elevator.

At this point, the three of us were starving as we didn’t manage to have our breakfast earlier for some reason. Thus, we were really looking forward to recharge ourselves. Most of us have never been here at the exquisite revolving Atmosphere 360º restaurant and it is obviously the highest restaurant in Malaysia (282m above ground).  A lunch buffet was sponsored by Google Zurich. Burp!

And now, our photowalk event has come to the end. Before enjoying our lunch meal, we had a closing speech delivered by Mr. Ronnie Oh, Mr. Roshan Sembacuttiaratchy from Google Zurich and Mr. Thew Kheng Loong from Fujifilm Malaysia. A big thanks to them for their commitments and efforts for making this event very successful.

It was quite a hectic day for us but the enjoyment and the fun during the walk wiped off the tiredness and the hunger that we experience that day. The organizers, sponsors and the people that came were all united in harmony for the love of photography.

Again, a big thanks to all. We really did enjoy ourselves. A fun and great outing with super great people and we do hope that G+ will grow in the future.

of questions for you if it’s allright. Is it just me or does it look as if like a few of the remarks come across like coming from brain dead visitors? 😛 And, if you are posting on additional social sites, I’d like to follow everything new you have to post.
Would you make a list of all of your communal pages like your Facebook page, twitter feed,
